Simone Geißler
- Goldsmith / "Meisterschülerin"
- Nuremberg, Germany
After her apprenticeship as a goldsmith, Simone Geißler studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg, Germany. She completed her studies in 2006 as a master student (“Meisterschülerin”) and subsequently opened her workshop gallery in a historic building in Nuremberg’s Old Town, where she shows her own work alongside the pieces of other jewelry designers and artists. She has been working with the PUK in her workshop from the beginning and doesn’t want to do that without it.
She says:
“The PUK is ideal for tacking before soldering and speeds up the production of jewellery enormously. I do often work in fine gold and apply gold to jewellery whose hardness has been increased by the previous working process and which should not be lost. Also, when attaching clasp mechanisms to bracelets and creoles, the spring stiffness of the wires can be preserved by welding with the PUK. Even welding close to gemstones and pearls is possible without any problems. Having had already very good experiences with the PUK 3s in the past, I particularly appreciate the faster welding speed, even better results in silver and the easier operation with stored welding geometries and presets for different materials with newer devices such as the PUK 5.1.”
